My sister and I have a podcast, Sisterhood Podcast. We started it in 2015 when she got pregnant and we were living in different countries – Daria in Stockholm, Sweden – I in Moscow, Russia.
Our ambition is simple: a weekly diary to document our lives – thoughts, ideas and desires, for ourselves and our children.
One morning in November we were talking how we could expand the Sisterhood concept further, learn from not only each other, but also from our fellow sisters, who are balancing kids, family and work.
How do these strong and determined women build lives on their conditions, prioritize and compromise, stay sane and pull themselves together when it all breaks down.
We still live in a world where equality is not the norm, where women get paid less for same work, where women many times don’t have same opportunities as men. We want to learn from each other so we can combat and change this together.
This is how Sisterhood Talks idea was born.
And as we were on the phone, all fired up about which guests we would like to invite first, I literally bumped in to the first name on our list – Ebba Bucht Lugani. I hung up with my sister, told Ebba about the idea, asked if she would be our first guest and she said yes.
I remember showing her her name written in our messenger chat, thinking this is at the same time amazing and normal, how the stars align if you just formulate your wish clearly enough.
5 episodes are recorded and they will be published on the Sisterhood Podcast every 2-3 weeks. Find the first episode here or on your favorite podcast player. ❤️
This is what today’s recording looked like – at home with amazingly inspiring Emma Elwin, stylist and founder of Make It Last.
